Cavaliers Sneak Past Celtics

The final score was Cavs: 95, Celtics: 97. Throughout the game both teams were very competitive. The Celtics showed their great chemistry, while the Cavaliers displayed their young talent, and "rookie" mistakes. The Cavaliers manged to escape the Celtics with the help of the crowd and some awesome defense. This was a very good start for the Cavaliers!

Last night's preseason game Lebron got supposedly injured. He walked off the court limping! The Heat organization released a statement saying that " It was only cramps, Lebron will be fine." (Sighs) Furthermore, Dwayne Wade has no timetable when he will return to the Heat. The best case scenario is that Wade will return on Opening Day. To think about, Wade, James, and Bosh only got three minutes and fifty five seconds to play together in the preseason. Kind of scary, huh?

As any other company we are short of staff, and school is my number one priority so I have been away too long. Coming back there is so much to talk about, from the Browns dropping to 1-4; despite the fact they have one of the most dominant backs in the game, with Peyton Hillis. Or should we talk about rookie Colt MCcoy starting his first game against the grueling Steelers. What is Homlgren thinking? Or should we talk about perennial powerhouse St.Ignatius has a staggering 3-4 record, not even making The Plain Dealer's Top 25! What about the emergence of the Maple Heights footaball team led by the 5'7 Shaq Washington. I am willing to bet they win it all, just as I am willing to bet Dimora will be cell mates with Russo. In a recent interview with Chris Bosh he said " We ( James and Wade) have been planning this for months. " He then caught himself and said " I mean we been planning this for days." This is telling you that Bosh, James, and Wade were planning this entire process for a long time. Our sources believe that the Miami Heat were tampering Lebron James during the playoffs. The Miami Heat could be receiving several fines from the league. I wonder was Erik Spoelstra ( Heat head coach) involved in this any shape or form. Please give feedback, on what you think!

This move is actually a very clever move because Delonte is going to be suspended any how because of his gun charges; trading him would be a very good move and would clear up some cap space for the Cavaliers. Lebron, Leaving or Staying?

The biggest question of the summer is: Is Lebron James staying with Cleveland Cavaliers, or leaving the organization in hopes to win a championship? The favorites to land Lebron if he leaves Cleveland are Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks ( supposedly), New Jersey Nets (if they move to Brooklyn), and the Dallas Mavericks. There are advantages and disadvantages on all of these four teams. The Chicago Bulls have an excellent young point guard, energized center, and a decent small forward. The Chicago Bulls, however are lacking a coach, bench, and defensive pressure (sometimes). Maybe if Lebron went to Chicago he could make the defense better, but the bench is sill a huge problem; if the Chicago Bulls get Lebron James they are not going to have enough money to build up a bench in a single year! The coaching problem in Chicago is fixable, but the Bulls would have to land a perfect coach to be even in championship talk. The New York Knicks mainly have only one pro of playing their big market. Of course I guess you could say Lebron would become more of a "superstar" in New York, but is that what he wants? The Knicks lack leadership skills, defense, and bench. These things are very hard to fix in a single year. Another disadvantage of playing with the Knicks is if Lebron does not win a championship the fans will call him a bust and sellout on him ( much like Cleveland fans are doing now) and he will be known as New York's biggest disappointment in the history of sports! The New Jersey Nets team is a probable choice. If the Nets moved to Brooklyn, it would be not as a big market as New YOrk, but it would be as I call it a perfect market. And of course Jay Z and the other owners would have to build heavily around Lebron, but they have the money and time to do it. Jay Z is also a big factor, Lebron is very good friends with Jay Z and I am sure Jay Z is persuading Lebron much as he can for Lebron to join Jay's team. The Dallas Mavericks are in contention because of the talent already on the team. Adding Lebron to that spectacular team would make them a powerhouse, but can Mr.Cuban afford it? Dallas's bench is decent and I believe this would be the best spot for Lebron James, if he decided to leave the Cleveland Cavalier organization.

Here is our interview of the year!

Who will win the NBA title?
The Lakers or Nuggets, I guess. But one thing I know is that whoever wins will win on a last second shot in Game 7 of the Finals against the Cavs. I'm assuming that Chief Wahoo won't have been retired by the Indians by then. If Wahoo is gone then the Cavs will win, for sure.

What do you think of Eric Mangini's coaching ability?

I think I'd like to get a better chance to evaluate it. I don't think Belichick would have promoted Mangini to coordinator if he wasn't talented, and I like what he was able to do with the Jets before they ran him out of town. I'm optimistic about what he can do here in Cleveland once he's had a chance to get his system in place.

Will Browns win another game?

I think they'll probably win at least one more, but I'm not really worried about it. This is a rebuilding year, with the team having deliberately shipped off high talent/low character guys for cap space and draft picks. However many more games they win, I hope they remain in a position to draft Tennessee safety Eric Berry with their first pick, a high talent/high character guy who will fill a big hole in the Browns' shoddy secondary.

Do you think that LeBron will leave Cleveland?

No.

Are you surprised of Ohio State?

I'm surprised more than anything by how solidly they finished after losing to Purdue. While the Big Ten has fallen off in a big way, with the players that Ohio State has coming back, and given one more year's development of the young wide receivers, I think that they're a legitimate BCS title contender if Terrelle Pryor can at all harness his singular talent. I think what we saw at the end of the season gives us reason to be optimistic here. I'm looking forward to the Rose Bowl.

Were the Cavs better without Shaq?

I don't think so. Shaq gives the Cavs an inside presence that they didn't have last season and could have used. I hope he can stay healthy enough to consistently deliver.

Should Lebron change his number?

Why not? I always thought it was kind of lame that he took Jordan's number to begin with. I'm glad he's decided to make a number his own.

Will the Indians have a winning record next year?

I hope so, but I don't think it's likely given the uphill battle the Indians face thanks to the payroll differences between small market and big market MLB clubs. Mark Shapiro has historically done an excellent job keeping the Indians competitive despite this disparity, so maybe we Tribe fans will have another fun year at the Jake, but it would be against all odds.

Does Ohio State need a new coach?

Maybe a new offensive coordinator, but not a new head coach.

Atletico Madrid Coach Quique Sanchez Flores Looking For Chelsea Positives

Quique Sanchez Flores believes that Atletico de Madrid can beat Chelsea and bolster their confidence in time for the local derby against Real Madrid at the weekend.

Los Colchoneros were swept aside at Stamford Bridge by the Blues two weeks ago under previous boss Abel Resino, but the new coach thinks that his players can turn the situation around.

Defeat against Chelsea would virtually eliminate Atleti from the Champions League, but Sanchez Flores is only thinking positively about the game.

The Cavs have really surprised us. They lost against the Boston Celtics and the Toronto Raptors! They start the season 0-2 and everything looks bad. Bobby Cox will retire as manager of the Atlanta Braves after the 2010 season, ending a career in which he guided the team to 14 consecutive postseason appearances and the 1995 World Series title.

The 68-year-old, a four-time manager of the year, agreed to a one-year contract extension for 2010, the Braves announced before last night's game against the New York Mets. He will start a five-year consulting agreement to advise the team in baseball operations after he steps down as manager.

"While I have decided that 2010 will be my last season in the dugout, I want to make it clear that we will all be working as hard as ever to win another world championship," Cox said in a statement. Cox managed the Braves from 1978 to '81, switched to manage the Toronto Blue Jays from 1982 to '85, then returned to manage Atlanta in 1990.

He has 2,409 regular-season wins as a manager, fourth behind Connie Mack (3,731), John McGraw (2,763), and Tony La Russa (2,550). Cox and Joe McCarthy are the only managers with six 100-win regular seasons.

"Bobby and I have been talking about this for some time," Braves general manager Frank Wren said in a statement. "We are very excited that Bobby, who is one of the best and most respected managers in the history of baseball, will again be managing our club in 2010."

That is what a lot of Cleveland Fans thought of after the Browns defeat. It is kind of the truth. WAKE UP CALL: NOT REALLY! This was the first time Brady Quinn really played as a "NFL starter" and he did a wonderful job! That was just a....... icebreaker game, which we call the game to let all the penalties, bad passing, bad defense, and bad playing out for the season and let the wins start. We also think Braylon Edwards did a good job too, we see tremendous improvement and lets hope this improvement continues! Our defense wasn't that bad either, we just have to stop the run more; what can we say he is the best running back in league we do not think the other thirty-one teams could have done much better. Mangani keeping QB choice a secret

Cleveland Browns coach Eric Mangani has a stated he has his starting QB but will not be sharing his choice publicly. "I will be talking to those guys and sharing my expectations," he said. "My expectations will be clearly that they support each other.

"I understand the excitement, but it will be something that will be internal. Being on the other side of this as defensive coordinator, I know the problems that not knowing who the starting quarterback will be can cause.

Eric also said he does not plan to play both of the QB's.

"We went through the entire process," Mangini said. "I talked to the coaches, I talked to (general manager) George Kokinis, I looked at all the information myself and then made the decision.

"It was thorough and it was detailed and it was the whole body of work - training camp, minicamp, OTAs and the progress each guy made. I feel strongly about the improvement both guys made."

Mangani also says the team will vote for team captain next week.

For good reason, fans appear to have taken Burnley as a team to follow in the English Premier League.

Burnley lost to Chelsea, 3-0, on Saturday at Stamford Bridge, but that should not alter the sentimental support.

Burnley’s attraction is that it is a Lilliput in a land of soccer giants. It is a small-town team with a small-time budget. The players are developed through the club’s youth academy or purchased from the bottom end of the market.

Yet the team’s credo is to give it a go, to try to play decent soccer and to see where team spirit may take it.

The Clarets, as Burnley is known because of the club color, did not crow when they beat Manchester United two weeks ago. The coach and players did not hide when they were overwhelmed at Chelsea. The season is long, and if they are to survive in this league, they know that their only hope is to accept the beatings, regroup and play the next match as if it were a new beginning.

“Our strength is in our group,” Owen Coyle, the Burnley manager, tells everyone who holds a microphone to him. “Everything we have to offer is in our unity.”

Moments after the match on Saturday, in which his defense was battered to the point that Chelsea had 15 shots on goal to none for Burnley, Coyle told reporters at his news conference: “We couldn’t argue that Chelsea were the better team. It’s no disgrace to lose to that kind of quality, and I’ve thanked my players in the dressing room for their effort and their honesty. We have to pick ourselves up because we have Liverpool next.”

Coyle did allow himself to say that his club had the smallest budget in the Premier League, by a long way.

Burnley, the champion of England in 1960, is the team of a town populated by fewer than 73,000. Style has always mattered to the team, and it has never sacrificed that, even though it spent 33 years out of the top division.

“But we still want to play, and to pass the ball,” Coyle said. “We knew that coming up to this division meant having to concentrate on everybody being at the top of their game for 90 minutes.”

This is a club, a philosophy, to admire. It tries to bridge an income gap that guarantees each of the Premier League’s 20 clubs a minimum of $50 million a season.

That is from global television fees alone. The clubs are free to bank their attendance income and marketing profits.

Burnley remains locally run, while half the league has sold its heritage to wealthy foreigners. Roman Abramovich, a Russian oligarch, has spent $1.18 billion over seven seasons as Chelsea’s owner.

Competing in this billionaire’s playground, even for one season, is the stuff of fairy tales. Burnley’s most overworked player at Chelsea was Brian Jensen, a Danish goalkeeper, who, at 34, is still hoping that the Danish national team coach will select him for the first time.

Jensen, known to Burnleyites as the Beast, made 12 saves Saturday, throwing his hefty bulk bravely at the feet of Chelsea warriors like Didier Drogba (from the Ivory Coast), Nicolas Anelka (France), Michael Ballack (Germany), Deco (Portugal), and Frank Lampard and John Terry (England).

Every player in the league of nations that makes up the Chelsea lineup is a household name. Two-thirds of the Burnley players are English born and bred. Most had never played at this level.

For example, Graham Alexander, 37, is a gritty defender who had played 900 matches in professional soccer before experiencing the top flight. This month, he was on a team of winners against Manchester United. For 44 minutes on Saturday, Burnley held out at Stamford Bridge, and Alexander made tackle after tackle against the onrushing blue tide.

For those 44 minutes, it was a good game; after that, it became a reality check. The dam burst in the last seconds of the first half. Drogba set up the first goal and Anelka scored it. The blows then came swiftly, as Ballack headed the second and Ashley Cole shot the third.

Chelsea, which has won all four of its games this season under its new coach, Carlo Ancelotti, appears to have regained a strong bond among its worldly collection of stars. Each player earns more in a month than Burnley’s are paid for a season.

But Lilliput never gave in to the giants, and Burnley is up for the fight. Win or lose, it has put the northern England town back on the sporting map.

The Cleveland Browns today signed free agent running back Chris Jennings, the club announced. In addition, the team waived linebacker Phillip Hunt. Cleveland Clowns think this is a terrific pickup for the browns considering that Jamal Lewis is not really living up to his expectations. Lets be real Chris Jennings probably will do better than Jamal in crunch time. Maybe just maybe this will get the Browns in the playoffs!

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Leon Powe agree to a 2 year $1.77 million deal. But Powe will not play until Febuary because of his bad knee injury. The knee injury he has is career threating, that is why it was risky for the cavs to sign him. But hear is some good news, players such as Amare Stoudemire and Kevin Garnett have all recovered from the same injury. When he is healthy he can be a big spark off the bench!

Albert Pujols. Albert is a Person of the Year nominee because of his athletic ability. This season alone he has 38 home runs, 132 hits,and has had a batting average of .427! That is amazing. He is also the raining National League MVP. He has led the St.Louis Cardinals to one of the worst teams in baseball to now a playoff contender. He is also nicknamed the machine because he is so good so people think he is not human. He is TRUE talent!

Micheal Vick. SECOND CHANCE, that is going to be the word Michael Vick is going to be relying on in the transition to the NFL. We all get second chances, don't we? Yes, Cleveland Clowns believes that Michael Vick is going to have wonderful homecoming season and is going to be a terrific locker room player. He is a nominee because he showed true patience! And trust me it is not that easy do do that. Roger Goodell still will not let Vick play a full season even know he served nearly 2 years in prison, but yet Vick still is fine with Goodell's stupid actions! Anyways Vick is doing really good and will do well with the Eagles.
